Speedway FAQ.
The basics
What is Speedway?
Speedway is an agentic commerce platform built around UCP, the Universal Commerce Protocol. It optimizes how AI shopping agents discover a retailer’s products and how they buy them, so the retailer gets found, gets chosen and wins the sale.
What is agentic commerce?
Agentic commerce is when an AI agent shops on a person’s behalf. Agents such as Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Meta’s Muse, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity search catalogs, compare products and check out through protocols like UCP, with the shopper approving the purchase.
Who is Speedway for?
Ambitious retailers that want to win in agentic commerce, starting with growing mid-market brands of roughly $50 million to $1 billion in revenue. They’re too complex for one-size-fits-all defaults, and too focused on growth to build all of this themselves.
Why does being agent-ready matter now?
Getting a catalog in front of agents is now easy and often free. Getting chosen isn’t. Agents ration their effort: they start with structured catalogs and protocols, look at a handful of options, then decide. Products with thin or unclear data drop out without anyone noticing. Retailers that are easy for agents to understand win the sale.
Who makes Speedway?
Speedway is made by ACOMM Ventures, Inc., an agentic commerce venture studio of designers, engineers and data scientists based in Austin, Texas. Its website is acomm.ai, and Speedway is its first product.
How it works
How does Speedway work?
In five steps. Connect your PIM, commerce platform, inventory, payments and fulfillment. Enrich your catalog continuously. Distribute feeds tuned for each catalog agents query first. Sell through a headless selling agent behind your UCP storefront. Learn from every query, answer and order.
What is a headless selling agent?
It’s Speedway’s selling agent. It has no user interface. It sits behind your UCP storefront and talks agent to agent with buying agents. Instead of returning literal matches like a vending machine, it understands what the shopper wants, returns curated, well-described options, and completes the purchase through your own systems.
Which AI agents and surfaces does Speedway support?
Speedway optimizes for the open agent surfaces, including Google (Gemini and AI Mode), Meta, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. Each one shops differently, so we tune your catalog and feeds for each one.
How does Speedway enrich a product catalog?
It adds and corrects the structured attributes agents filter on, such as material, fit, size and use, and links related products such as bundles, multipacks and substitutes. It draws on search signals, reviews and what buying agents actually do. Every enriched attribute has a source and a confidence score.
Does Speedway work with my commerce platform?
Speedway connects to your PIM or product feed, and to commerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Commerce, Adobe Commerce, commercetools and Shopify. Where you already use a feed or connector, we can plug into it rather than replace it. You don’t need to replatform.
Do I have to change my checkout or payment provider?
No. You keep your own payment provider, inventory, fulfillment and customer service. Speedway completes purchases through your existing systems.
Trust and data
Can an agent buy without the shopper’s approval?
No. A human approves every purchase. The shopper sees and approves the exact total. There’s no autonomous buying.
Who owns the customer and the data?
You do. You stay the Merchant of Record, and we never touch card data. Your data is private to you, and nothing is shared between retailers.
How does Speedway keep bad actors out?
Only verified agents can transact. Speedway defends against instructions hidden in product content (prompt injection) and against refund abuse.
Getting started
How quickly can I go live?
Within weeks. We connect your systems, benchmark how agents see you today, and start optimizing.
How do I get started?
With a benchmark: how agents see you today on Google, Meta, ChatGPT and other surfaces, where rivals win, and what it costs you. Then a pilot: we enrich one category, tune its feeds and measure the lift. Then we scale to every category and surface.
How is Speedway priced?
A setup fee, then a fee tied to the lift we measure, so we earn more only when you sell more. We never take a cut of your payments. We don’t publish list prices yet. Get in touch for a proposal.
How do you measure results?
On four things: how often you’re found on each surface, how often you’re chosen, how many agent visits are converted into orders, and the agentic revenue and lift we add, against the benchmark we take when you start.
